Pocha Princess
Synopsis
River of Love is a supernatural Love story about a fierce Indigenous Mexican American girl who grows up in a white, conservative Colorado town in the 1970s. A pre-digital age romp through a youth-led revolution that would rock the nation with seismic cultural and political shifts. The Women’s Liberation Movement, Civil Rights, Anti-War Movement, and the Sexual Revolution transformed our world. It's a love letter to the Rocky Mountains, to the spirits, to a tight-knit family, and even to youth itself.
It’s how infinite Love eternally shapes our lives. Love is what we’re made for, and Love is who we are. The journey between who you once were and who you are becoming is where the dance of life really takes place.
I’m a Chicana with Apache, Ute, and Diné ancestry our lives build on the shoulders of our ancestors. We must speak the truth for the denied, erased, despised, and powerless to shine light and hope into the darkness.
